Who are we?

We are Megan, Amy, Jenni & Moe

Four ladies that met while studying at Longwood University

We are creative people who hold one BA in Music, one BFA in Printmaking, one BFA in ceramics, & one BA in English.

What we do:

We are all pretty recent graduates trying to get on our feet.

Some of us are more on top of them than others, but all of us are excited to start our lives

Megan, with a degree in English, just started on her journey to her Master's Degree!

She's decided to keep it cool by embarking on a journey as a barista!

Megan is also the blogger behind Freckled Italian

Amy, a super recent graduate in the field of Printmaking & Bookbinding

is spending her summer binding books & creating art!

Jenni, with a degree in Music, is setting her sights on a fun & oh so fashionable summer

with trips & friends galore.

And finally Moe, a graduate with a degree in Ceramics, is spending her summer

Why est. 1839?

Longwood University, founded on March, 5 1839, is one of the oldest higher learning institutions in the United States.  Longwood was founded 20 years after the founding of the University of Virginia & is the 3rd oldest public institution in Virginia.  Founded in 1839 as the Farmville Female Seminary Association, Longwood went through many name changes until finally attaining University status in July of 2002.

All of us attended Longwood University & thus est. 1839 was born!

Megan, Amy, & Jenni wrote a fashion column for the Rotunda (our school newspaper) durring their education there.  Moe, however, became friends with Amy & Jenni after Megan graduated.

One night, after dinner at the best Mexican place around school a twitter message was exchanged between Moe & Megan suggesting, on the behest of Amy, that we all start a local Virginia fashion blog!

est. 1839 is a blog about fashion, inspiration, chic on the cheap, and DIY's.

Each week we will present outfits, inspiration boards, products we love, and 

discounts we have found.
